JENNI – Owner, Creative Director, and Unapologetic-Crown-Addict
A total wedding convert – the truth is that owner Jenni MacLeod used to “kind of hate weddings.” That is until she met the love of her life, threw away the rules, and planned a meaningful celebration of love (and epic party) in magical Scotland surrounded by her favorite people. She happy cried her way through a three-day tequila soaked dance party, and now absolutely demands that every bride have the beautiful, creative, and authentic wedding their heart desires. She loves working individually with brides to understand their unique style point of view and helping them apply that to their wedding day. Jenni loves to push the bridal fashion envelope and regularly styles photo shoots featured in top wedding blogs and magazines. She’s particularly passionate about working with women designers and entrepreneurs and bringing ethically-sourced styles to the shop that are unavailable anywhere else in Southern California. Jenni’s husband is a real life Scottish warlock and you’re sure to see their unusual chiweenie Birdie roaming the shop and politely barking at brides.
CHANEL – Owner, Operations Director, and Lace-Loving-Number-Cruncher
A bridal designer from birth (or pretty close), Chanel learned her craft in London before opening a bridal boutique in Sydney, Australia and launching her own line at NYC bridal week. After years of learning the ins and out of the wedding biz, she decided to take some time away to start a family, complete with super cute kid. She knew she wanted to get back into business eventually but said “my days in bridal are done.” Yet…here she is! The draw of pretty things and sappy love was just too strong and bridal is in her blood, so she decided to focus her Type-A math geek brain on the systems side, her fave thing. Chanel is a sucker for glamor inspired by eras gone by, particularly fashion from the 1920s to the 1950s, and believes a bride should be herself on her day – but ya know, the most drop-dead beautiful version. Her best advice is that your dress should be an extension of you and showcase who you are – go with what feels right, not what anyone else thinks. When she’s not creating dresses and editing websites, you’ll find her sipping rose with friends in her backyard or beaching with her 5-year old in Malibu.
BETH – Stylist, Assistant Shop Manager, and Human-Xanax-For-Brides
Beth Brooks, AKA the nicest person you’ll ever meet in your life, comes to BRIDE with a background in wedding planning and events. From her intimate interaction with brides on the big day, she’s seen it all – and learned what a bride practically needs out of her wedding dress and accessories. Beth believes you shouldn’t feel pressure to fit into any certain bridal stereotype, and your dress should be like a second skin. The day is an emotional roller coaster and the last thing you need to think about is “can I eat that cake I’ve been dreaming about for a year and paid a sh*t ton of money for, or is my dress too tight?” Eat the cake. Drink the champagne. Dance until you’re super sweaty. And choose the perfect dress that will allow you to do so beautifully. Beth is obsessed with all wedding things and feels truly honored to get to share in this incredibly special moment in your life. In her spare time, you may find her putting together powerpoint presentations on dog breeds and following “so many dog accounts. Like, so many.” But she doesn’t actually have a dog…yet.
